BitOasis has appointed Jonathan Rigg as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a leadership change as the UAE-based crypto platform enters its next phase of growth across the Middle East and North Africa.
Rigg succeeds Ola Doudin, who co-founded BitOasis in 2016 and led the company through its expansion into one of the region’s established regulated digital-asset platforms. The appointment comes as BitOasis looks to strengthen its products, expand its regulated footprint and deepen its presence across the MENA crypto market.
Jonathan Rigg Takes Over at BitOasis
Rigg brings nearly a decade of experience across global banking, financial markets, fintech and digital assets. Before joining BitOasis, he held roles at HSBC and Deutsche Bank, mainly in prime brokerage and capital advisory. He later joined Fuze Finance as Vice President, Commercial.
Rigg was part of the company’s founding team and helped scale the business from its early stages. His experience also covers crypto infrastructure, OTC trading, stablecoin payments and Banking-as-a-Service. That background gives Rigg experience across both traditional finance and the digital-asset sector.
BitOasis Enters Its Next Growth Phase
BitOasis said the leadership change comes as it enters another stage of development. The platform has recorded approximately $8.5 billion in spot trading volume. Its customer base includes retail investors, family offices and institutional clients across the UAE, Bahrain and the wider region.
BitOasis has also served more than one million customers across the region. The company is now looking to build on that base by strengthening its products and capabilities. Rigg said his focus will include expanding the platform while maintaining strong standards around trust and safety.
BitOasis Is Expanding Its Regulated Footprint
The CEO transition comes alongside BitOasis’ broader regulatory expansion. In May 2025, the company launched BitOasis Bahrain after receiving a broker-dealer licence from the Central Bank of Bahrain.
That move extended its regulated presence beyond the UAE and gave the company another base within the Gulf’s growing digital-asset market. BitOasis has also expanded its institutional offering. Its OTC desk serves institutional clients, while the company has secured regulatory approval for derivatives products that are moving towards launch.
CoinDCX Integration Remains Part of the Strategy
BitOasis is also continuing its integration with CoinDCX, which acquired the company in 2024. The acquisition brought BitOasis into the wider CoinDCX ecosystem while allowing the UAE platform to maintain its focus on the MENA market.
BitOasis said its next chapter will include continued integration with CoinDCX alongside efforts to strengthen its regional presence. This gives the company access to the resources of a larger crypto business while it continues building its position in the Middle East.
Ola Doudin Steps Away After Building BitOasis
Rigg’s appointment also closes an important chapter for BitOasis. Doudin co-founded the company in 2016 and helped build it during the early stages of the region’s digital-asset industry. Under her leadership, BitOasis expanded its regulated operations and grew its customer base to more than one million people across the region.
Doudin has expressed confidence in Rigg’s ability to lead the company through its next stage. The leadership transition therefore comes at a point when BitOasis has moved beyond its early growth phase and is building a broader regulated digital-asset business.

Editorial Takeaway
Rigg’s background could prove important as BitOasis develops its institutional business. His experience spans banking, crypto infrastructure, stablecoin payments and OTC markets. Those areas are becoming increasingly important as financial institutions in the region explore digital assets.
At the same time, BitOasis already has regulatory licences and an established customer base across key Gulf markets. The challenge now is turning that foundation into sustained growth. For BitOasis, Rigg’s appointment signals a focus on product expansion, institutional services, regulatory growth and stronger regional capabilities.
As crypto adoption develops across MENA, the company will be competing in a market that increasingly includes both traditional financial institutions and global digital-asset firms. Rigg’s task will be to take BitOasis into that next stage while preserving the trust and regulatory standards that helped establish the platform in the first place.
