Circle is bringing its USDC and EURC stablecoins into enterprise payment workflows through SAP, potentially giving businesses a simpler way to use stablecoins for payments and treasury operations.
The move follows a partnership between Circle and Tereina, an SAP-backed financial services company. The integration will begin with SAP Cloud ERP, allowing eligible businesses to send and receive stablecoin payments through applications they already use.
Circle Integrates Stablecoins Into SAP Payments
Under the partnership, USDC will be the preferred stablecoin for US dollar-denominated payments, while EURC will support euro-denominated transactions.
The integration is designed to allow businesses to use stablecoin payments without introducing a separate crypto payment system. Instead, stablecoin functionality will be incorporated into existing enterprise payment workflows through Tereina’s infrastructure and SAP Pay.
This could make stablecoins easier for corporate finance teams to use alongside traditional payment methods.
Businesses will still be able to use conventional payment rails while gaining access to blockchain-based settlement where eligible.
SAP Ecosystem Covers 84% of Global Commerce
The partnership gives Circle access to a significant enterprise software ecosystem.
According to the companies, the SAP ecosystem is connected to businesses responsible for 84% of global commerce. This could give USDC and EURC exposure to a large number of companies already using SAP’s financial and enterprise software.
Rather than requiring businesses to adopt a standalone crypto platform, the integration brings stablecoins into software they already use for financial operations.
This approach could also reduce some of the technical barriers that have limited stablecoin adoption among traditional businesses.
Stablecoins Target Cross-Border Payments and Treasury
The integration is expected to support use cases including global payments and corporate treasury operations.
For example, businesses could use USDC for dollar-denominated payments while using EURC for euro-denominated transactions within their existing workflows.
Circle’s own SAP integration materials also highlight potential uses for cross-border supplier payments, intercompany transfers and accounts payable and receivable settlement.
The ability to settle transactions using blockchain infrastructure around the clock could provide another option for companies operating across different markets and time zones.
Circle and Tereina Plan Customer Tests
The integration is not yet a full-scale rollout across all SAP customers.
Circle and Tereina plan to conduct proof-of-value programmes with customers over the coming months. They also intend to train treasury and payments professionals and work with ecosystem partners to develop additional stablecoin payment use cases.
The companies have not disclosed the first participating customers, expected transaction volumes or a specific date for wider commercial deployment.
Arc to Support Initial Stablecoin Workflows
Circle’s Arc blockchain will serve as the preferred blockchain for the partnership’s initial stablecoin payment workflows.
The development comes shortly after Circle launched Arc’s mainnet, with the blockchain designed around stablecoin payments and financial market activity.
This gives Circle another opportunity to connect its blockchain infrastructure with established financial systems rather than requiring businesses to build new payment infrastructure from scratch.

Editorial Takeaway
Circle’s partnership with Tereina marks another step toward bringing stablecoins into mainstream enterprise payments.
By integrating USDC and EURC into SAP workflows, Circle is targeting businesses that may want the benefits of blockchain settlement without having to operate separate crypto payment systems.
The upcoming customer trials will show whether enterprises adopt stablecoins as a practical payment and treasury tool at scale. If successful, the integration could further connect stablecoins with the traditional software infrastructure that businesses already rely on for global commerce.
