Samsung is bringing stablecoin transfers into its Samsung Wallet app, allowing eligible Galaxy users in the United States to send digital dollars internationally without installing a separate cryptocurrency wallet.
Announced on October 7, the feature will launch in the last week of October 2026, with support for USD Coin (USDC), a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. Samsung says the service will be available across approximately 82 million compatible Galaxy devices in the US.
The move expands Samsung Wallet beyond traditional payment cards and digital credentials. It also brings stablecoin transfers closer to everyday mobile payments.
Samsung Wallet Will Support USDC Transfers
The new feature will allow eligible users to send USDC from Samsung Wallet to compatible cryptocurrency wallets internationally.
Samsung says transfers to compatible external wallets will carry no transfer fee from Samsung itself. However, recipient wallets or exchanges may charge their own fees, and transaction speeds will depend on network conditions.
Users will also be able to transfer funds to eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries. Recipients can receive the money in their local currency without needing to manage a cryptocurrency wallet.
Fees apply to bank transfers and vary by destination and amount. Users will see the applicable fee and estimated delivery time before confirming a transaction.
Samsung Brings Stablecoins Into Everyday Payments
Samsung’s approach removes several steps that can make stablecoins difficult for newcomers to use.
Users will not need to download a separate crypto app or manage private keys themselves. Instead, they can access the service through Samsung Wallet, which already supports payment cards and other digital credentials.
This could make stablecoin transfers more accessible to people who have little experience with cryptocurrency.
However, the feature does not mean users can spend USDC everywhere that accepts Samsung Wallet. At launch, the announced functionality focuses on stablecoin transfers and international bank payouts.
Samsung says direct stablecoin payments online and in physical stores could become available in the future.
Coinbase and Bastion Will Support the Service
Samsung is working with cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and stablecoin infrastructure provider Bastion to deliver the service.
Bastion will provide regulated stablecoin custody, account operations, compliance and cross-border payment infrastructure. Coinbase will act as Bastion’s USDC sub-custodian through Coinbase Prime Vault.
Samsung says eligible users must complete account registration and identity verification. Transfers must also receive biometric authentication on registered devices.
The arrangement separates Samsung’s wallet interface from the financial infrastructure that handles custody and money movement.
Samsung has clarified that regulated partners provide the stablecoin accounts, custody and transfer services. Samsung itself does not hold customer funds or act as the service’s bank or digital asset custodian.
Solana and Sui Will Support Blockchain Infrastructure
The service will use blockchain infrastructure provided by partners, including Solana and Sui.
Solana has separately announced its involvement in the integration, describing the feature as a way to bring stablecoin transfers into an existing mobile wallet experience.
For users, this infrastructure will operate behind the scenes. They will interact with Samsung Wallet rather than needing to navigate blockchain tools directly.
USDC will be the first supported stablecoin. Samsung has not announced a launch date for additional stablecoins.
Samsung Expands Its Coinbase Partnership
The launch builds on Samsung’s existing relationship with Coinbase.
The companies previously introduced Samsung Pay as a payment option in the Coinbase app. Eligible Samsung Wallet users have also received access to Coinbase One benefits.
The new integration takes their collaboration further by bringing stablecoin transfers directly into Samsung’s wallet ecosystem.
It also creates a potential route for users to move between traditional money and digital dollars through one mobile interface.
What Samsung’s USDC Integration Means for Stablecoin Adoption
Samsung’s announcement highlights an important development in digital payments: stablecoins are increasingly being integrated into familiar consumer applications.
Until now, many users have needed a dedicated cryptocurrency exchange or wallet to send stablecoins. By incorporating USDC transfers into Samsung Wallet, the company aims to reduce that barrier.
The international bank payout feature is particularly relevant to cross-border transfers. Recipients can receive local currency directly into eligible bank accounts without having to understand how stablecoins work.
However, the practical benefits will depend on fees, supported destinations, bank eligibility and transaction times.
The initial rollout is also limited to eligible US residents. Samsung has not announced specific launch dates for other markets, saying future expansion will depend on local regulatory developments.

Editorial Takeaway
Samsung’s USDC integration brings stablecoin transfers into a mobile wallet already used for everyday digital tasks.
The key development is not simply that Samsung supports cryptocurrency. It is that users will be able to send digital dollars internationally without managing a separate crypto wallet.
If the service proves useful, it could help make stablecoins a more familiar part of cross-border payments. For now, its reach will depend on the October rollout, eligible bank destinations and future expansion beyond the United States.
